Decided

Holding

The Court extended the time for deposit by one week and the time to file an affidavit‑in‑reply by four weeks, and barred any further extensions.

Summary

Aspira Pathlabs & Diagnostics Ltd. filed interim applications in three writ petitions against Dr. Arshad Anwar Rais, Dr. Sahil Anwar Rais, and Dr. Salma Arshad Rais. The applicant sought extensions of time to deposit a sum ordered on 28 July 2026 and to file an affidavit‑in‑reply. The respondent, through counsel, consented to a one‑week extension for the deposit and requested a further extension for filing the affidavit. The Court, after hearing counsel, granted a one‑week extension for the deposit and a four‑week extension for the affidavit, but expressly barred any further extensions. The earlier ad‑interim relief remains in force provided the deposit is made within the newly granted one‑week period.

Issues considered

  • Whether the Court should grant an extension of time for the applicant to deposit the amount ordered on 28 July 2026
  • Whether the Court should allow further extensions of time beyond the one‑week period for deposit
  • Whether the Court should extend the time for the respondent to file an affidavit‑in‑reply to the petition
