Bombay High Court

VEDANT KAMLAKAR GHARATversusTHE STATE OF MAHARASHTRA

Decided
Disposal
Disposed Off

Holding

The court relaxed conditions (iii) and (iv) of the earlier bail order, allowing the applicant greater freedom of movement and removing the mandatory police station attendance requirement.

Summary

The applicant, Vedant Kamlakar Gharat, filed an interim application seeking relaxation of bail conditions imposed by the Bombay High Court on 19 June 2024, which barred him from entering certain police jurisdictions and required him to attend police stations on specific dates each month. The State of Maharashtra, represented by counsel, opposed the relaxation. After hearing both sides, Justice Shivkumar Dige ordered that the restrictive conditions (iii) and (iv) be relaxed. The interim application was therefore allowed and disposed of. The order effectively eases the applicant's movement and reporting obligations pending trial.
