Transfer to other Court

Holding

The Court ordered that the petition be placed on the administrative side before the Acting Chief Justice and listed for hearing, and that the Excess Saving Statement be forwarded to the SLTC for approval.

Summary

The Bombay High Court heard a public interest litigation concerning the 35‑villages water supply scheme, focusing on the Pure Water Gravity Main, Elevated Storage Reservoirs (ESRs), and pending payments to contractors. The petitioners sought direction to forward the Excess Saving Statement (ESS) submitted by the Municipal Joint Project (MJP) to the State Level Technical Committee (SLTC) for approval, and to ensure outstanding bills of Rs. 14.16 crore and other dues be cleared. The Court noted that 55 of 59 ESRs are to be completed, with several under testing and commissioning, and that the Municipal Corporation would verify site availability for two ESRs. The parties also requested the constitution of a new bench at Aurangabad to handle the matter. The Court directed that the petition be placed on the administrative side before the Acting Chief Justice, listed for hearing on 11 September 2026, and that the ESS be forwarded to the SLTC for consideration.
