Bombay High Court

DEELIP S/O. BHIKAJI RAHATEversusTHE STATE OF MAHARASHTRA AND ANR

Disposal
DISPOSED OFF

Holding

The revision application was dismissed as the cause of action had ceased to exist after the applicant completed his sentence.

Summary

The applicant, Deelip, failed to appear before the High Court on 25 August 2026, prompting the court to issue a non‑bailable warrant. He subsequently appeared before the court, represented by Advocate Shardul G. Shinde. The applicant contended that he had already served his sentence, and therefore the cause of action for the criminal revision no longer existed. The court examined whether a revision could be entertained after the completion of the sentence. Finding that the cause of action was extinguished, the court disposed of the criminal revision application.

                P. C. :-

                1. On the last occasion i.e. on 25.08.2026 since none

had appeared on behalf of the applicant, this Court had issued

order, the applicant is present before this Court.

                2. The learned advocate for the applicant states that the
