Holding

The court directed the Education Officer to decide the appointment proposal within four weeks and laid down subsequent steps if approval is granted.

Summary

Petitioner Pooja Jayantkumar Jagtap filed a writ petition seeking a direction to the Education Officer to decide a pending proposal dated 21 April 2025 for her appointment as Shikshan Sevak at a secondary school. The proposal had remained undecided since 2025, causing undue delay. The High Court, noting the limited grievance, disposed of the petition by ordering the Education Officer to decide the proposal within four weeks. It further directed that, if approval is granted, the Deputy Director of Education must enter her name in the Shalarth Pranali, assign a Shalarth ID within three weeks, and release the grant‑in‑aid salary within an additional three weeks. The order was signed by Judges Neeraj P. Dhote and Sharmila U. Deshmukh.
