The GCZMA must notify Respondent No. 2 of the next hearing date and dispose of the pending application within six weeks, after which the writ petition stands disposed.

Summary

The petitioner, Krishnan Venugopal, filed a writ petition before the High Court of Bombay at Goa challenging a delay by the Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority (GCZMA) in hearing his application dated 14 May 2026. The petitioner sought an order directing the GCZMA to hear the matter and dispose of the application. The Court noted that Respondent No. 2, a party to the proceedings, had not yet been notified of the hearing date. It directed the GCZMA to ensure that Respondent No. 2 is served notice of the next hearing before any orders are passed. The Court further ordered that the GCZMA dispose of the application within six weeks and thereafter held that the writ petition stands disposed.
