The High Court directed the School Education Department to decide the pending appointment proposal within six weeks, thereby disposing of the petition.
Summary
The petitioners, including Smt. Ashwinee Balasaheb Dhanave-Patil, filed a writ petition before the Bombay High Court seeking a direction to the State's School Education Department to approve the appointment of petitioner No.1, a proposal that had been pending since 9 May 2024. The petitioners argued that the delay was unjustified and requested the court to order an expeditious decision. The respondents included the State of Maharashtra and the School Education Department, with the latter being the authority responsible for the appointment. The court noted that the relief sought was limited and deemed it unnecessary to issue a notice to the second respondent. Consequently, the court disposed of the petition by directing the School Education Department to decide the pending proposal within six weeks of the order. The order aimed to ensure timely administrative action without further judicial intervention.
