Holding

The petitioners are entitled to the additional increments for excellent work under the State Government policy.

Summary

The petitioners, employees of the State of Maharashtra, filed a writ petition seeking the additional increments promised for excellent and outstanding work under the state government's policy. The respondents, the State, contested the claim. The Court noted that the petition falls within the precedent set by the Coordinate Bench in Writ Petition No. 8493 of 2019, which granted similar benefits. Relying on that decision, the Court held that the petitioners are entitled to the additional increments. Accordingly, the petition was allowed and the respondents were directed to award the increments within eight weeks of the order.
