Holding

The petitioners' grievance must be decided by the Grievance Redressal Committee, not by the High Court.

Summary

The petitioners, Mirza Waseem Ehtesham Baig and others, filed a writ petition before the Bombay High Court seeking relief against the State of Maharashtra. The Court examined whether the petitioners' grievance could be entertained directly by the Court or should be referred to the Grievance Redressal Committee established under a Government Resolution dated 27 March 2024. The Court concluded that the grievance falls within the jurisdiction of the Committee. Accordingly, the Court ordered the petitioners to approach the Committee and allowed them to attach the Court's decisions they rely upon to their complaint. The Committee was directed to decide the matter within 16 weeks of receiving the order, and the writ petition was disposed of.
