Bombay High Court

SHUBHAM SHAILENDRA JAISWALversusTHE UNION OF INDIA AND OTHERS

Disposal
DISPOSED OFF

Holding

The petition was dismissed as moot because the petitioner had already obtained the passport.

Summary

The petitioner filed a criminal writ petition seeking a direction from the High Court for the issuance of a passport in his name. The petitioner’s counsel argued that the court’s intervention was necessary to obtain the passport. During the pendency of the petition, the petitioner was able to obtain the passport on his own. Consequently, the court observed that there was no longer any relief to be granted. The petition was therefore deemed moot and was disposed of without any further order.
