Holding
The Court may correct clerical errors in its orders to accurately reflect the parties and counsel involved.
Summary
The Bombay High Court noted several clerical mistakes in its earlier orders relating to multiple writ petitions, including incorrect cause titles and a misrecorded name of counsel for respondents. Petitioners sought correction of these errors to reflect the accurate parties and counsel involved. The Court examined whether such typographical errors could be rectified without affecting the substantive merits of the petitions. It held that correcting clerical errors is permissible to ensure the record accurately reflects the proceedings. Accordingly, the cause titles for WPs 10993/2025 and 10994/2025 were amended, and the name of respondent counsel in WP 10833/2025 was corrected. The corrected order was directed to be uploaded on the Court’s website.
