Bombay High Court

KALYAN RAGHUNATH BARHATE AND ANOTHERversusTHE STATE OF MAHARASHTRA THROUGH ITS SECRETARY AND OTHERS

Disposal
DISPOSED OFF

Holding

The Court held that the petitioners must first submit the required documents before the claim can be considered, and the petition is disposed pending such compliance.

Summary

The petitioners, Kalyan Raghunath Barhate and another, filed a writ petition seeking compensation from the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Co. Ltd (MSEDCL). MSEDCL contended that the petitioners' application was deficient and required submission of specific documents, notifying them on 27 March 2026. The petitioners claimed they had not received any communication, though a copy was later produced in court. The Court ordered the petitioners to furnish the required documents within six weeks from the order date. Upon receipt, MSEDCL was directed to adjudicate the compensation claim within eight weeks. The Court then disposed of the writ petition pending compliance with these procedural steps.
