The Court directed the respondent to hear and conclude the eligibility/ineligibility proceedings within eight weeks and to pass a reasoned order.

Summary

The petitioner, Sangita Janardan Kondivilkar, filed a writ petition seeking a court order directing the Deputy Collector (ENC/REM) to hear and determine her eligibility or ineligibility proceedings arising out of Appeal No.12 of 2024 within a specific time frame. The petition also requested a reasoned and speaking order from the respondent. The High Court examined whether it could issue such a directive to expedite administrative proceedings. Finding no impediment, the Court ordered the respondent to conclude the eligibility proceedings within eight weeks of the order and to pass a reasoned order. Consequently, the petition was disposed of after granting the relief sought.
