The Education Officer must consider and decide the proposal within four weeks from the date of the order.

Summary

The petitioners, Lokmanya Shikshan Prasarak Mandal and others, filed a writ petition seeking a direction to the Education Officer to consider and decide a proposal dated 1 July 2017 for the appointment of a Shikshan Sevak (Marathi) at a school run by the petitioners. The school had already appointed the candidate on 17 June 2017 and submitted the proposal for approval. The High Court examined the petition and, without finding any substantive objection, ordered the Education Officer to decide the proposal within four weeks, after giving a hearing to all concerned parties. The court kept all contentions open and disposed of the writ petition. Consequently, the petitioners obtained a time‑bound directive for administrative action, and the petition was dismissed as disposed.
