The Court disposed of the writ petition and directed the Committee to pronounce its judgment on the validity claim by 9 September 2026.

Summary

The petitioner, a student seeking admission to a medical college, filed a writ petition seeking a direction to the State’s Committee to decide her pending caste validity claim by 11 September 2026. The claim had been pending since 2024, with a Vigilance Cell Committee report submitted in May 2025. The Attorney General’s Pleader informed the Court that the hearing on the matter had already been conducted and the proceedings were closed for final disposal, with a judgment to be delivered by 9 September 2026. Accepting this, the Court disposed of the petition and ordered the Committee to pronounce its judgment on or before 9 September 2026 and to furnish a copy to the petitioner the same day. The order thus provides a clear deadline for the Committee’s decision while terminating the writ petition.
