The court disposed of the first petition as withdrawn and listed the second petition for urgent hearing.
Summary
The petitioners filed two writ petitions challenging the Maharashtra Public Service Commission's (MPSC) judicial service recruitment processes. In WP/11887/2023, the petitioner had already secured a judicial appointment through the 2022 recruitment, so the petitioner sought to withdraw the petition, which the court disposed of as withdrawn. In WP/14907/2022, the petition was limited to the relief sought by Ms. Tejaswini Gajanan Jaybhaye, with the MPSC indicating it would file an affidavit addressing the petitioners' contentions. The court ordered the matter to be listed for urgent hearing on 2 September 2026. No substantive merits were decided, and the proceedings were procedural.
