Bombay High Court

GOVIND HARI CHAUDHARI AND ANOTHERversusTHE STATE OF MAHARASHTRA THR ITS PRINCIPAL SECRETARY AND OTHERS

Disposal
DISPOSED OFF

Holding

The High Court held that the grievance must be first addressed to the Grievance Redressal Committee constituted under the 26‑02‑2020 Government Resolution.

Summary

The petitioners, Dr. Govind Hari Chaudhari and another, filed a writ petition challenging actions of the State of Maharashtra. They sought relief from the High Court, alleging that the appropriate forum for their grievance was not being provided. The Court examined whether the petition fell within the jurisdiction of the Grievance Redressal Committee established under the Government Resolution dated 26 February 2020. It held that the Committee is the designated forum for such grievances and that the petitioners should first approach it. Consequently, the writ petition was disposed of, with the Court directing the petitioners to approach the Committee and indicating that any stay application would be considered expeditiously by the Committee.
