RAJESH LAXMANRAO PAWARversusTHE STATE OF MAHARASHTRA THR ITS SECRETARY AND ANOTHER

Disposal
DISPOSED OFF

Holding

The writ petition stands disposed as the prayers have become infructuous following the dismissal of the underlying complaint.

Summary

The petitioner, Rajesh Laxmanrao Pawar, filed a writ petition (No. 11940 of 2026) before the Bombay High Court, Aurangabad Bench, on the basis of a complaint lodged by Nivrutti Shankarrao Bangar. During the pendency of the petition, the committee that was to consider the complaint dismissed it. The petitioner argued that the dismissal rendered his relief sought in the writ petition ineffective. The Court examined whether the petition retained any locus standi after the underlying complaint was dismissed. Concluding that the petition's prayers had become infructuous, the Court disposed of the writ petition. No substantive merits of the original complaint were addressed, as the petition was deemed moot.
