The Court held that the grievance must be redressed by the Grievance Redressal Committee.

Summary

Jyoti Dayalsing Thakur filed a writ petition before the Bombay High Court seeking relief against the State of Maharashtra. The petitioner alleged that his grievance could not be addressed by the court and sought a direction for redress. The Court examined whether the grievance fell within the jurisdiction of the Grievance Redressal Committee constituted under the Government Resolution dated 27.03.2024. It concluded that the appropriate forum for redress was the Grievance Redressal Commissioner. Accordingly, the petition was disposed, granting the petitioner liberty to approach the Committee and to annex the Court’s order in support of his grievance, with a direction for expeditious consideration.
