DEELIP DATTATRAYA GOREversusTHE STATE OF MAHARASHTRA THR ITS SECRETARY AND ORS

Disposal
DISPOSED OFF

Holding

The Court held that the petitioner’s grievance should be addressed by the Grievance Redressal Committee and therefore dismissed the writ petition.

Summary

Deelip Dattatraya Gore filed a writ petition before the Bombay High Court, Aurangabad Bench, challenging a grievance he had with the State of Maharashtra. The petitioner sought relief from the court, while the Attorney General for the State argued that the grievance could be addressed by the Grievance Redressal Committee established under a Government Resolution dated 27/03/2024. The Court examined whether the petition should be entertained or the petitioner should be directed to the Committee. It held that the Committee was the appropriate forum for redress and that the petition could be disposed of without further judicial intervention. The Court ordered the petitioner to approach the Committee, directing that any time spent on the petition be considered when the Committee decides on any delay condonation application. Consequently, the writ petition was disposed of with liberty to approach the Committee.
