The Court ordered the petitioner to submit a fresh claim in the prescribed format and directed the Zilla Parishad and the State to determine and release any eligible reimbursement within the stipulated timelines, thereby disposing the petition with those directions.
Summary
Venus World Schools filed a writ petition seeking reimbursement of fees paid for students admitted under the 25 % quota mandated by the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009. The school had already submitted a claim to the Zilla Parishad, Pune, but the High Court directed it to file a fresh communication in the prescribed format with supporting documents. The Court set a detailed timetable for the Zilla Parishad to seek any further information, forward recommendations to the State Education Department, and for the State to determine eligibility and release the amount. If the school is found not entitled to any reimbursement, the Court ordered a reasoned order to that effect. The petition was disposed with these procedural directions and no order as to costs, with a compliance deadline of 20 January 2027.
