DISPOSED OFF

Holding

The Court directed the Committee to decide the tribe claim as early as possible, preferably within three months.

Summary

The petitioner, Pragati Prasann Thakur, filed a writ petition seeking a direction to the State's Scrutiny Committee to decide his tribe claim, which had been pending since 12 January 2026. The petitioner argued that the delay violated his right to a timely decision. The State, through its Additional Government Pleader, informed the Court that the vigilance cell report had been received and that it would take about two months to serve a copy to the petitioner. The Court directed the Committee to decide the tribe claim as early as possible, preferably within three months from the date of the order, and ordered the petitioner to appear before the Committee on 28 September 2026 without further notice. Consequently, the writ petition was disposed of with the said directions.
