- Disposal
- DISPOSED OFF
Holding
The court held that the petitioners are entitled to a one‑month extension for thesis submission upon depositing Rs 1,00,000 each, and the order will be revoked if they fail to comply.
Summary
The High Court of Bombay entertained several writ petitions filed by students seeking an extension for submitting their theses to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University. The petitioners argued that they required additional time and were willing to furnish a security deposit. The Court, relying on its earlier order in Writ Petition No. 6661 of 2026, granted the relief, directing the university to allow a one‑month extension provided each petitioner deposits Rs 1,00,000 within a week. The order further stipulated that failure to submit the thesis within the extended period would result in the order being revoked. Consequently, the writ petitions were allowed subject to the stipulated conditions.

- Whether the petitioners are entitled to an extension of time for thesis submission
