The Court allowed the writ petitions, granting a one‑month extension for thesis submission subject to each petitioner depositing Rs 1,00,000 with the University.
Summary
A group of petitioners filed multiple writ petitions before the Bombay High Court seeking an extension of time to submit their theses to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University. The Court noted that the matter had already been addressed in its earlier order dated 20‑08‑2026 in Writ Petition No.6661 of 2026. It allowed the present petitions, directing each petitioner to deposit Rs 1,00,000 with the University within one week. Upon receipt of the deposit, the University was ordered to grant a one‑month extension for thesis submission. The order further stipulated that failure to submit the thesis within the extended period would result in automatic revocation of the relief. The Court’s order is absolute and enforceable.
Issues considered
- Whether the petitioners are entitled to an extension of time for submission of their theses
- Whether the condition of depositing Rs 1,00,000 per petitioner is a valid prerequisite for granting the extension
