SONYABAPU LAXMAN BACHKAR AND OTHERSversusSWATI RAJARAM TAKPERE AND ANOTHER

Disposal
DISPOSED OFF

Holding

The petition is infructuous and is therefore disposed of.

Summary

The petitioners sought a writ challenging an order of the Civil Court that granted police protection to the respondents for a specific date, 15/03/2021. The petitioners argued that since the protected date had already passed, the petition had become moot. The respondents' reply confirmed that the police protection was indeed granted for that date. The Court examined whether the petition retained any operative purpose after the lapse of the protected date. Finding that the relief sought could no longer be granted, the Court held the petition infructuous. Consequently, the writ petition was disposed of.

           PER COURT :-

           1. The learned Advocate for the Petitioner states that vide order

impugned in the present Petition, the learned Civil Court had granted

police protection to the Respondent for a particular date, i.e.

15/03/2021. The learned Advocate states that since the said date has

already gone, the cause in the Petition has been rendered infructuous.

was in fact granted on 15/03/2021.

           3. In view of the above, the Writ Petition is disposed of as

           infructuous.
