Respondent No. 3 must consider the petitioner’s transfer request for couple convenience within 30 km and decide within four weeks.

Summary

Shaikh Parveen Bano Ibrahim filed a writ petition seeking a transfer of her posting on the ground of couple convenience, requesting a posting within a 30 km radius. She alleged that the State authorities had not considered her request despite a representation made on 28‑10‑2025. The Court referred to its earlier judgments in Writ Petition Nos. 5880 of 2019 and 13883 of 2019, which support the principle of couple‑convenience transfers. It directed Respondent No. 3 to examine the petitioner’s representation, taking into account the availability of vacancies within the stipulated 30 km perimeter. The Court ordered that a decision be communicated within four weeks of receipt of the order. Accordingly, the petition was disposed with these directions.
