A subsequent order exonerating the petitioners and treating the suspension period as duty renders further adjudication of the earlier writ petitions unnecessary.

Summary

The petitioners, Ashok Shrirang Godase and Rajkumar Revansidha Bamane, challenged an order dated 29 November 2023 that suspended them pending a departmental enquiry by the Chief Executive Officer of Pune Zilla Parishad. The respondents produced a later order dated 28 November 2025, which exonerated the petitioners and directed that the suspension period be treated as a period on duty. The High Court, noting the exoneration and the corrective order, held that further adjudication of the writ petitions was unnecessary. Consequently, the court disposed of both petitions without costs and directed that the service records reflect the exoneration and the treatment of the suspension period as duty. The decision effectively restores the petitioners' service standing and clears any disciplinary stigma.
