SATISH GANGADHAR SAWANTversusTHE STATE OF MAHARASHTRA AND OTHERS
- Disposal
- DISPOSED OFF
Holding
The petition is dismissed as moot because all charge sheets are already filed and will be tried by the same judge.
Summary
The petitioner, Satish Gangadhar Sawant, filed a criminal writ petition seeking the clubbing of six First Information Reports (FIRs) registered under various crime numbers with the Majalgaon City Police Station for investigation. The petitioner argued that the FIRs should be combined for trial. The counsel for the petitioner, on instruction, clarified that charge sheets for all six cases have already been filed before the same Additional Sessions Judge, Majalgaon, and the trials will be conducted by that single judge. The Court observed that since the cases are already consolidated in the same court, there is no ground for the petition. Consequently, the petition was dismissed as there was nothing left to adjudicate.
