The Court held that there was no impediment and quashed FIR No. 0483 of 2021.
Summary
The petitioner, Ekramuddin Kazi, filed a writ petition seeking to quash FIR No. 0483 of 2021 registered at Nayanagar Police Station under Sections 420, 468 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code. The petitioner was the original complainant and a summary report had been filed, which the State's Additional Public Prosecutor confirmed by a letter dated 28.08.2026. The Court examined whether any impediment existed to granting the relief sought. Finding no impediment and accepting the summary report as sufficient ground, the Court allowed the petition to quash the FIR. Consequently, the petition was disposed in favour of the petitioner.
Issues considered
- Whether the FIR registered under Sections 420, 468 and 34 IPC should be quashed on the basis of the summary report filed by the petitioner.
