Bombay High Court

THE CHIEF FOREST CONSERVATOR REGIONAL DHULE AND OTHERSversusRATANJI GOPAJI GAVIT

Disposal
DISPOSED OFF

Holding

The writ petitions were dismissed as withdrawn because the underlying complaint had been disposed of.

Summary

The Chief Forest Conservator Regional Dhule filed multiple writ petitions (Nos. 2127, 2128, 2129, 2137, 2155, 2156, 2177 of 2026) against various respondents challenging interlocutory orders of an Industrial Court. The petitioners later informed the High Court that the underlying complaint before the Industrial Court had been disposed of, rendering the writ petitions moot. They sought liberty to withdraw the writ petitions. The Court examined whether a writ petition can be withdrawn after the substantive dispute is resolved. Finding no impediment, the Court allowed the withdrawal and dismissed the writ petitions as withdrawn. The orders were pronounced by Justice Manjusha A. Deshpande on 24 September 2026.

                         DATE : 24.09.2026
PER COURT :-

1. The petitioners in all these writ petitions seek liberty to

withdraw the writ petitions and the background of the fact that

the writ petitions were filed against the interlocutory orders

passed by the Industrial Court on order below Exh.U-15.

According to the petitioners, now the complaint ULP itself has

been disposed of. Therefore, Writ Petitions have become

infructuous.

2. In view of the aforementioned background, the Writ

Petitions are dismissed as withdrawn.
