By consent of the parties, the court reduced the monthly compensation deposit to Rs 25,000 and granted three months to pay any arrears.

Summary

The petitioners, Jasoda Jaynarayan Bhattad & Anr, challenged an order directing them to deposit compensation of Rs.30,000 per month to the respondents, Rajasthan Jain Shwetamber Sangh (Purva Vibhag) and others. The District Judge had ordered this payment in Civil Appeal No.150 of 2023. The petitioners sought a reduction of the monthly deposit amount, and the respondents consented to a lower figure. The High Court, after considering the consent, modified the impugned order, reducing the deposit to Rs.25,000 per month. Additionally, the Court granted the petitioners a three‑month period to clear any outstanding amounts while continuing the reduced monthly deposit. The order of the lower court was thus altered accordingly.
