Holding
The Court held that it may permit the withdrawal of a writ petition when the petitioner seeks such relief and no prejudice is caused.
Summary
The petitioner, Supriya Pramod Jaware, filed a writ petition (No. 3212 of 2026) in the Bombay High Court challenging an application sent through jail in 2025. Subsequently, a vakilpatra was filed on his behalf by Ms. Anjali Patil. The petitioner later sought to withdraw the petition, indicating a desire to pursue other legal avenues given changed circumstances. Counsel for the petitioner, Mr. Tohid Shaikh, requested the court's permission to withdraw, and the State of Maharashtra was represented by Ms. M. M. Deshmukh.
