MAHENDALE SHIKSHAN PRASARAK MANDAL THROUGH ITS CHAIRMAN SECRETARY,versusTHE DISTRICT CASTE CERITIFICATE SCRUTINY COMMITTEE AND ORS.

Disposal
Disposed Off

Holding

The petition was disposed of because the petitioner’s new management withdrew instructions to pursue the writ.

Summary

The petitioner, Mahendale Shikshan Prasarak Mandal, filed a writ petition challenging a decision of the District Caste Certificate Scrutiny Committee. During the hearing, counsel for the petitioner informed the court that the institution's management had changed and the new management had no instructions to continue the litigation. The petitioner therefore sought disposal of the petition. The court considered the counsel's statement and found no substantive issue requiring adjudication. Consequently, the court disposed of the writ petition without further hearing. The order was signed by Judges Rajesh S. Patil and Abhay J. Mantri on 19 August 2026.
