Holding

The petition was deemed infructuous and dismissed, subject to a limited period for seeking modification or recall.

Summary

Hemant G. Kankriya and others filed a writ petition challenging the conduct of an election held by the Maharashtra Chamber of Commerce, Industry & Agriculture (MACCIA). No counsel appeared for the petitioners, while the respondent's counsel informed the court that the election had already taken place and the results were declared. The court observed that, on these facts, the petition was rendered infructuous. Consequently, the court declined to proceed further with the matter. However, it granted the petitioners a three‑week window to seek modification or recall of the order if aggrieved, and thereafter dismissed the writ petition.
