Bombay High Court

TATA MOTORS LIMITEDversusGULAM FARID KHAN AND ANR.

Decided
Disposal
Disposed Off

Holding

The consent terms constitute a full and final settlement, leading to the disposal of the writ petitions.

Summary

The parties to two related writ petitions before the Bombay High Court reached an amicable settlement. The respondent, Tata Motors Limited, agreed to pay Rs.6,00,000 to the legal heirs of the deceased petitioner, and a demand draft was handed over to the petitioners' counsel. The consent terms, signed by all petitioners and the authorized representative of the respondent, were recorded and marked as evidence. The court accepted these consent terms as undertakings and disposed of Writ Petition No.1027 of 2009 on that basis. Subsequently, the counsel for the petitioner in Writ Petition No.4012 of 2005 sought leave to withdraw that petition, which the court granted, disposing it as withdrawn.
