Holding

The Court directed Respondent No.2 to decide the approval within four weeks and disposed of the petition.

Summary

The petitioner, Pruthviraj Prabhakar Mane, filed a writ petition seeking the Court to direct the respondent authority to decide a representation dated 24 June 2026 concerning his approval for the post of junior clerk. The representation was filed pursuant to an order dated 4 December 2025 of the Appellate Authority, Social Welfare Department, which remitted the matter to Respondent No.2 for fresh consideration. The Court noted that the appellate authority’s order required a prompt decision and ordered Respondent No.2 to decide the approval expeditiously, specifying a period of four weeks from receipt of the order. No substantive discussion of merits was required as the relief sought was purely procedural. Accordingly, the writ petition was disposed of after the direction was given.
