The petition is dismissed, and the Family Judge’s order granting maintenance of Rs.3,000 per month stands.

Summary

The petitioner, Kishor Anand Shinde, filed a writ petition challenging the order of the Family Judge that granted maintenance of Rs.3,000 per month to his wife, Harshali Kishor Shinde, and their son. The petitioner, employed as an Office Assistant, earns Rs.17,825 per month and contended that the maintenance amount was excessive. The Family Judge had determined the amount appropriate based on the parties' circumstances. The High Court examined whether the maintenance award was justified in view of the petitioner’s income and the needs of the respondent and child. The Court found no merit in the petition and held that the maintenance order was reasonable. Consequently, the writ petition was dismissed, leaving the maintenance award in force.
