Holding

The writ petition is disposed as infructuous due to the parties’ settlement.

Summary

Bashir Ahmed Mulla, a member of the Muslim Education Committee, filed writ petition No.4603 of 2006 against the State of Maharashtra. He subsequently filed an affidavit stating that the parties had amicably settled the dispute and that the Managing Committee passed resolutions on 21 November 2025, making the petition infructuous. The State was represented by S.N. Deshmukh, Advocate General of Maharashtra, while the petitioner was represented by Irshad Malik on behalf of Sajid Mahat. The Court, after taking note of the affidavit, held that there was no longer any cause of action and ordered the writ petition to be disposed. Accordingly, the related civil application was also ordered disposed by Justice Vrushali V. Joshi.
