Holding

The court held that the Education Officer must decide the pending appointment proposal within four weeks from the date of the order.

Summary

The petitioner, Namdev Rajaram Kamble, filed a writ petition seeking a direction to the Education Officer to decide a proposal dated 24 November 2025 that would appoint him as an Art Teacher effective 28 January 2025. The petition argued that the delay in decision was causing undue hardship. The High Court noted that the proposal remained undecided and, in the interest of justice, ordered the Education Officer to decide it expeditiously, specifying a four‑week deadline. The Court further directed that, if approval is granted, the Deputy Director of Education must enter the petitioner’s name in the Shalarth Pranali and issue a Shalarth ID within two weeks, and release arrears of grant‑in‑aid salary within three weeks. The petition was disposed with these directions.
