Holding
The petition stands disposed of, with the Court directing the GCZMA to dispose of the pending matters by 30‑11‑2026.
Summary
The petitioner, Alchemist Asset Reconstruction Company Ltd., filed a writ petition alleging that the Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority (GCZMA) had failed to order the demolition of certain structures on specified survey lands in Agonda, Goa. The GCZMA contended that the matter was pending before it and that the respondent (the owner of the structures) had applied for fresh permissions, which were also under consideration. The GCZMA further claimed that the structures had already been removed and no commercial activity was ongoing, a claim disputed by the petitioner. The Court, without adjudicating the merits, directed the GCZMA to dispose of both the petitioner’s complaint and the respondent’s fresh permission application by 30 November 2026. Consequently, the petition was declared disposed of.
