The order dated 01/10/2026 is to be corrected to replace the specified terms with the petitioner’s suggested wording.
Summary
Ganpat Kanu Mendadkar filed a writ petition before the Bombay High Court challenging certain terminologies used in an order dated 01/10/2026. The petitioner sought to have the words “Scrutiny Committee” replaced with “Competent Authority”, and “Caste Validity Certificate” and “Validity Certificate” replaced with “Caste Certificate”. The Court, after hearing the petitioner’s counsel, examined the request and found no substantive objection, merely a clerical correction. Accordingly, the Court directed that the order be corrected as per the petitioner’s prayer. The corrected order now reflects the revised terminology.
Issues considered
- Whether the terms “Scrutiny Committee”, “Caste Validity Certificate”, and “Validity Certificate” in the order dated 01/10/2026 should be amended to “Competent Authority” and “Caste Certificate” respectively.
