DISPOSED OFF

Holding

A writ petition may be withdrawn by the petitioner upon the court’s permission, and the court may grant such permission.

Summary

Pooja Akshay Pawar filed Writ Petition No. 6102 of 2026 before the High Court of Bombay, Aurangabad Bench, seeking relief against her husband Akshay Vinayak Pawar. The petitioner, through counsel Mr. Prasad S. Dikle, later applied for permission to withdraw the petition. The Court examined whether it could allow the petitioner to withdraw a pending writ petition. It held that a petitioner may withdraw a writ petition subject to the Court’s permission and accordingly granted the request. The petition was therefore disposed of as withdrawn, with liberty to the petitioner to approach the Court again if permissible under law.
