VAISHALI BALAJI INGOLEversusTHE STATE OF MAHARASHTRA AND OTHERS
- Disposal
- DISPOSED OFF
Holding
The petition was held to be infructuous and was disposed of.
Summary
The petitioner, Vaishali Balaji Ingole, filed a writ petition challenging a 2019 order of the Collector, Hingoli, and a subsequent order of the Additional Divisional Commissioner, Aurangabad. The petitioner argued that the relief sought was no longer viable because the term of the elected member concerned had expired in 2020, rendering the petition infructuous. The Court examined the claim of lapse of time and found that no substantive issue remained for adjudication. Consequently, the Court held that the petition could not proceed. The petition was therefore disposed of as infructuous.
