Bombay High Court
CHANDRABHAGA NAVNATH KADAM AND ANOTHERversusTHE STATE OF MAHARASHTRA THROUGH SPECIAL LAND ACQUISITION OFFICER NO 1 AND ANOTHER
- Disposal
- DISPOSED OFF
Holding
The Court held that, as the issue was already decided in Writ Petition No. 6319 of 2024, the writ petitions are allowed and the State must pay the Lok Adalat award within six months.
Summary
Several writ petitions filed by various petitioners against the State of Maharashtra sought enforcement of awards made by a Lok Adalat. The Court observed that the matters raised were already decided in Writ Petition No. 6319 of 2024. Relying on the reasoning in that order, the Court allowed the present writ petitions and directed the State to pay the amounts awarded by the Lok Adalat to the petitioners within six months, subject to the absence of any other legal impediment. The Court warned that any failure to comply with the direction would be taken seriously. Consequently, the petitions were disposed of with the payment directive.
