Holding

The Supreme Court’s order vacated the stay on the relief, and the Bombay High Court disposed of the petition accordingly.

Summary

The petitioners, led by Nikita Dipakrao More, sought relief after a Division Bench order on 14‑10‑2025 had allowed their petition. The matter was appealed to the Supreme Court in the case Pratikraj Rajendrakumar Hamand & Ors. v. Nikita Deepakrao More & Ors., where the Supreme Court, on 19‑08‑2026, accepted More’s claim based on her merit ranking and vacated the stay on the relief previously granted by the Bombay High Court. Consequently, the Bombay High Court disposed of the writ petition, noting that More had received the benefits ordered by the Supreme Court. The order is limited to More’s claim alone.

Issues considered

  • What was the effect of the Supreme Court’s order on the stay granted by the Bombay High Court?
