The Court directed Respondent No.2 to decide the parole application dated 01-07-2026 within two weeks of the order.

Summary

The petitioner, Muin Mohd. Yusuf Kazi, filed a civil writ petition seeking an order directing Respondent No.2 (the prison authority) to decide his parole application dated 1 July 2026 within a reasonable time. The petitioner argued that he had previously been released on parole on 21 December 2025 to 1 December 2026 on the ground of his mother's illness, but the required original hospital documents were not furnished. The respondent contended that the petitioner had not produced the original hospital papers, which were necessary for verification. The Court examined the submissions and found that the delay in deciding the parole application warranted judicial intervention. Consequently, the Court disposed of the petition, directing Respondent No.2 to decide the parole application within two weeks from the date of the order.
