Summary

The petitioner, Shamina Rauf Patel, filed a complaint on 19 September 2025, leading to the registration of FIR No. 290 of 2026 under Sections 331(4), 305, 126(2) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 by the Taloja Police Station. The petitioner subsequently sought permission to furnish a supplementary statement to the police in connection with the FIR. The respondent State, through its Additional Public Prosecutor, opposed the petition. The High Court, after hearing counsel for both sides, granted the petitioner liberty to give the supplementary statement. Consequently, the writ petition was disposed of.
