Holding

The Court directed the second respondent to decide the petitioner’s application within six weeks and to issue a brief reasoned order, thereby disposing of the petition.

Summary

The petitioner filed a writ petition seeking a direction to the second respondent to process an application dated 16 December 2025 and to provide a reasoned decision within a specified time. The petition was limited to relief under prayer clause (b), which specifically asked for such a direction. The Court examined whether it could compel the administrative authority to act on the application within a fixed period and to issue a brief reasoned order. Finding no impediment, the Court directed the second respondent to decide the application within six weeks from the date of the order and to communicate a brief reasoned order to the petitioner. Accordingly, the petition was disposed of.
