Summary

The High Court of Bombay at Goa entertained a writ petition filed by Gauriputra Infratech Pvt. Ltd. seeking a writ of mandamus directing the Civil Judge, Senior Division, Mapusa to take up and decide Civil Miscellaneous Application No. 74/2026 expeditiously due to urgency. Both parties agreed that a swift disposal would benefit them. The Court, without delving into the merits of the underlying application, granted the prayer and ordered the lower court to hear and decide the matter within four weeks, directing the parties to appear on 19 August 2026. The judgment emphasizes the Court's power to issue mandamus to ensure timely administration of justice. The writ petition was consequently disposed of with the relief granted.
