DISPOSED OFF

Holding

The court declined to issue a writ of habeas corpus, holding that the girl had been produced before the court and expressed a desire to remain with her parents, thus the petition was disposed.

Summary

The father of a 17-year-old girl filed a habeas corpus petition seeking her release from police custody. The police produced the girl before the court, and her school leaving certificate confirmed her age as 17 years and 8 months. During a private interaction, the girl stated she resides with her parents and wishes to continue staying with them. The court noted that the girl was already produced before it and expressed no desire for further detention. Consequently, the court declined to issue a writ of habeas corpus and disposed of the petition.
